Got A Girl

Got a Girl were formed by producer Dan "The Automator" Nakamura (Gorillaz, Deltron 3030, Handsome Boy Modeling School) and singer/actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Smashed, Live Free or Die Hard), who met on the set of the 2010 movie Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and bonded over a shared love of '60s French pop, café jazz, psychedelia, and hip-hop. They experimented with making music together and were thrilled with the results. They began working on an album of slinky, sophisticated pop songs in a retro style that blended with Nakamura's distinctive hip-hop-influenced beats. They released the single "You and Me" in 2013. Their debut album, I Love You But I Must Drive Off This Cliff Now, arrived a year later. ~ Timothy Monger
