CLC

About CLC

CLC is the South Korean girl group whose messages of empowerment shine through despite twists and turns in the industry. Their name is an acronym for “Crystal Clear” • The group was originally a quintet featuring Seunghee, Yujin, Seungyeon, Sorn and Yeeun. They made their first appearance as back-up dancers for their Cube Entertainment label mate G.NA. • CLC debuted with “Pepe”, a sassy funk-pop song about calling out an immature lover for playing games and happily moving on. • They returned with two new members—Elkie and Eunbin—for the 2016 EP Refresh. Elkie was born and raised in Hong Kong, and along with Sorn—who hails from Thailand—she helped to give the group an international flavour. • In 2017, CLC underwent another refresh with their Crystyle EP and its lead single “Hobgoblin”, which delivered a harder, darker image and sound. • CLC have collaborated with several of their famous Cube Entertainment label mates, including HyunA, who co-wrote and mentored the group for “Hobgoblin”, and Soyeon of (G)I-DLE, who co-wrote and co-produced their 2019 single “No”.
