There’s no looking back for Defected Records-affiliated DJ/producer Sam Divine as the independent UK label celebrates 25 years of incomparable influence on the dance scene. “It’s important to reflect on the journey, but also just as important to look to the future,” she tells Apple Music of the new Defected Worldwide mix, which features dizzyingly euphoric house music tracks from all corners of influence. Divine’s selection of “future sounds” bumps original cuts from talent such as disco house duo Floorplan and Divine’s own collaboration with Jem Cooke and Hannah Wants, up against David Guetta’s fresh take on Dennis Ferrer’s classic “Hey Hey”—under his Jack Back alias—in a forward-facing nod to Defected’s legacy. If you can’t get enough, Divine promises plenty more to come. “You will be hearing [these songs] a lot at Defected events this summer, including our new residency at Ushuaïa,” she says. “Enjoy!”
