Zac Brown Band Essentials

Few bands have the range of Zac Brown's heavily bearded country ensemble. After self-releasing a pair of albums in the mid-'00s, the Georgia group went major with 2008's The Foundation, a down-home LP that pairs big, Kenny Chesney-style hooks with bluegrass-indebted instrumentals. "Chicken Fried", a fiddle-accented homily with a reggae break, remains the band's signature, but they can't stay faithful to any one genre, chasing after raucous grunge ("Heavy Is the Head"), Avicii-style EDM and Jimmy Buffett pop. Vacation jam "Knee Deep" even features the king parrot himself.
