Reba McEntire: Influences

Reba McEntire: Influences

Taking a cue from our What Would Dolly Do? playlist, Reba McEntire is taking over her own Influences collection to shine a light on some of the artists and songs—both new and classic—that inspire her. To celebrate her new album, Stronger Than the Truth, and her 16th (!) time hosting the Academy of Country Music Awards, she's assembled a mix that leans heavily, but not exclusively, on country music. Reba also gave us some of her thoughts on the selection of tracks that you'll hear. “Loretta is my hero!” she tells Apple Music about her pick “If You're Not Gone Too Long”, Loretta Lynn's classic 1967 single. “Before hitting the stage, I always warm up and do my mic check with this song.” Lee Ann Womack's “If These Walls Could Talk” is another modern classic that Reba loves. “I'm a huge fan of Lee Ann's, always have been,” says Reba. “When someone asks me my favourite artists, she's always right at the top!” Check out these picks, along with the rest of Reba's inspirations, in this exclusive playlist. And don't forget to tune in and watch her host the 54th annual ACM Awards on April 7.
