Prem Joshua: Celebrating World Music Day

Prem Joshua's airy sitar drives these atmospheric tracks, whether in unison with traditional bansuri flute or behind syncopated jazz vocal harmonies. Fronting an ensemble that includes Japanese bassist Satgyan Fukuda, French keyboardist Dondieu Divin and Indian vocalist Runa Rizvi and tabla player Raul Sengupta, Joshua isn't afraid to stretch the definitions of contemporary Indian music in a range of original compositions. Some of them get the chilled-out remix treatment—while others set a more contemplative pace.
