Lucinda Williams Essentials

Lucinda Williams discovered folk and blues as a child in her native Louisiana and spent the '70s finding her voice in Texas and New York. In 1979, she released her debut album on Folkways, but her breakthrough came with a 1988 self-titled LP on the indie label Rough Trade. Since then, she's recorded stomping rock 'n' roll, aching country ballads and everything in between, and she counts Tom Petty, Willie Nelson and Emmylou Harris as fans. Along the way, she's won GRAMMY®s for Best Country Song, Best Contemporary Folk Album and Best Female Rock Vocal Performance.
