Leslie Lewis has been piloting far-sighted ventures into Indi-pop—across solo work and successful side projects—all from a start composing advertising jingles in the late ‘80s. As well as contributing a wealth of memorable themes and scores to cinema, Lewis has also released acclaimed work with ghazal singer Hariharan in the duo Colonial Cousins, breaking new ground in merging Indian classical with Western pop. Funk guitars and Indian drums, bossa nova grooves, acoustic ballads and pop-rock jams from collaborators like KK are all here in a perfect introduction to an award-winning canon.
