Producer and multi-instrumentalist Jon Brion is a master at matching music to film. Before becoming a maestro of movie scores, the Jersey-born artist worked on a number of notable albums in the ‘90s (like Fiona Apple’s debut Tidal), but his work as a composer and arranger for Magnolia, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Punch-Drunk Love transformed his career as much as the films themselves. His whimsical melodies never take over a scene but instead enhance it, giving the visuals an added dimension via a versatile arsenal of strings, organs, guitars, analogue keyboards, and myriad exotic samples and sounds.
