Inspired by Creedence Clearwater Revival

These roots-rock legends formed in 1967 and split up in '72, yet they recorded seven hugely influential albums. The twanging guitars, hair-raising ballads, and ragged sing-alongs had a big impact on the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, while their country-blues inspired southern rockers like Little Feat and The Allman Brothers Band, as well as dozens of alt-country acts. The band's swampy riffs would go on to help shape the sound of grunge and '90s alternative.
