Since the early ‘80s, Gurdas Maan has been one of the most important—and maybe most influential—keepers of Punjab's rich musical tradition. Relevant and revolutionary since his early days, the Indian legend holds a colossal catalogue of more than 30 albums. Maan's music centres on his intensely elastic vocals, somersaulting over folky strings and bubbling percussion. The singer established himself with his breakthrough, party-starting anthem “Dil Da Mamla Hai” in 1980. In the decades since, he's crafted both frenetic pop hits and more traditional compositions.
