Considered the biggest Brazilian rock star of the ‘80s, Cazuza released numerous hits throughout his storied career, beginning as frontman for Barão Vermelho—Brazil's first rock band. A charismatic vocalist, he layered poetic texts over distorted guitar riffs and heavy pulsating rock drums. His songs can be raw and bluesy, as on “Blues da Piedade”, or poppy and catchy with an '80s rock sound, as on “Exagerado”. Aside from dark rock hits like “Brasil”, he could deliver a sweet bossa nova too, like “Faz Parte do Meu Show”.
