About Leftwing : Kody

Producing steady tech-house tracks which pay reverence to classic house from the 1980s and '90s, Leftwing & Kody quickly rose to stardom in the underground club scene. The British duo have played residencies at Fabric (London) and Sankeys (Ibiza), hosted a show on Rinse FM, and collaborated with house legends Robert Owens and Todd Terry, in addition to running their own Lost Records imprint. Following dozens of releases on labels like Relief Records, Desolat, and Moon Harbour, Leftwing & Kody reached a wider audience when Columbia licensed their euphoric 2019 single "I Feel It." Leftwing (Jon Kong) and Kody (Chris Aidy) had both been spinning and producing house tracks for years before officially becoming a duo in 2012. That year, OFF Recordings released the pair's first EP, Bump & Flex, and they began steadily increasing their gig schedule. Quickly earning attention from Mixmag and DJ Mag, they continued releasing material on labels like Anjunadeep and Suara. They formed Lost Records in 2013, and the label issued their 2015 EP I Wanna Fixation, which featured revered house vocalist Robert Owens. Releases followed on Kaluki Musik (Sub Syndrome), Relief (Malinke), Moon Harbour (Gully, featuring Isis Salam), and several other labels. The duo collaborated with house pioneer Todd Terry for 2018's Just Getting Warm EP. Leftwing & Kody's 2019 single "I Feel It," originally released by Toolroom Records, was picked up by Columbia and became their most popular tune to date. ~ Paul Simpson
