b. USA. A Chicago, Illinois-based singer and guitarist, Griffin performs in a hard-edged, rock-influenced bluesy style. Long established as one of the city’s leading live draws on the blues circuit, he has also recorded several self-released albums. Among the songs he has recorded are ‘The Rub’, ‘Gone Too Far’, ‘Bad, Bad Man’, ‘Sleeping With The Devil’, ‘Empire State’, ‘Back To Chicago’, ‘Mama’, ‘Found Out’, ‘See It My Way’, ‘Love Remains’, ‘Big Leg Woman’, ‘Long Distance Call’, ‘Whole Heart’ and ‘Rock Me’. Among artists with whom he has recorded are Pete Berwick and Billy King. In later years, Griffin has been chiefly active as a record producer. He has his own studio, Vital Music Recording, in Brookfield, Illinois, where among bands he has recorded is Blue Plate Special.
