Sleep

Sleep

On their surprise new album, which lands less than a year after 2019’s Rooh , Aswekeepsearching swap out rock crescendos in favour of pillow-soft comfort. Sleep sees the quartet don their producer hats and step into lightheaded electronic (“Glued”) and blankets of soothing instrumental music (“11 Degrees” and “Maybe There”). Aside from Uddipan Sarmah's vocals over the acoustic guitar of “Dreams Are Real”, Sleep is largely an instrumental album that envelopes the listener in subtle melodrama. Violinist/producer Ajay Jayanthi takes standout turns on “Sleep Again”, “How Am I Supposed to Know” and “Let Us Try”.
