Sinaaki Osinaaki

Sinaaki Osinaaki

As a purveyor of multilingual Indian music, Papon is known to blend elements of folk, pop-rock and new age classical. This sound truly comes to the fore in Sinaaki Osinaaki, Papon's second album in Assamese. Songs like "Aiebeli Hok" reflect a shift towards a modern, north-eastern rock fusion, which is then juxtaposed with classical accents in tunes like "Osinaaki Mon". Meanwhile, "Loka Motive" merges almost all of the styles sampled on the record, with tabla, taal and classical strings underscored by bass guitar to create a fresh, multifaceted tone.
