Composer R. D. Burman's soundtrack for Saagar explores the film's Goan setting, with the sea and the shore both playing important roles in its soundscape. The opening duet, "O Maria", is a guitar-based tune flirting with Portuguese influences, while contemplative duet "Saagar Kinare" (by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar) reverts back to the main bright theme of the album. Elsewhere, Asha Bhosle and Shailendra Singh perform the sultry "Jaane Do Naa", a song made famous among young lovers at the time of the film's release.
