The National Award-winning Hindi soundtrack brought orchestral arrangements to Indian cinema, which, until then, had been used only sparingly in string-section interludes. Balasubramanyam leading in a synth-laden romantic ballad later reprised by Hariharan and Sujatha Mohan.
