Editors' Notes On their debut album, Jogi Mukt channel rock, folk and lyrical conviction into compelling storytelling. Drawing from India’s poems and literary works, the Ahmedabad band sing about the futility of war on “Andhayug”, adapted from a 1953 play by Dharamvir Bharati; and set blazing rock riffs and solos on the tabla-heavy “Dusra Banwas” and “Garaj Baras”. The poet Ibn-e-Insha’s work about nomadic life inspires a shapeshifting title track that flows from bright to dark tones. The band explores vibrant psych rock on “Nadi Ka Behna”, “Khajoor” offers soaring prog rock and “Saazish” is an arena-sized blast.
