Armaan Bedil has built his career on the back of a string of successful singles. Appropriately, the vocalist’s EP debut Jannat—which arrives more than six years after his 2016 breakthrough “Laavan”—comprises six songs that each stand alone. Composed by Gaurav Dev and Kartik Dev, these pop tunes boast touches of folk and hip-hop, with Bedil’s understated vocals serving as a robust and reliable vehicle for an array of love stories. He’s effortlessly cool on “Basically”, softly emphatic on lover’s lament “Privacy” and particularly charming on “18 Saal”, a tale of young romance.
