8 Songs, 43 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

The critically-acclaimed soundtrack for this 1997 thriller was composed by Viju Shah with lyrics from Anand Bakshi, drawing heavily on Western suspense cinematic traditions. “Gupt Gupt” sets the tone, taking its electronica inspiration from both Tubular Bells and “Deep Forest”; meanwhile the flute sounds of the intro to “Duniya Hasino” are adapted from Japanese new age artist Kitaro’s “Matsuri”. Soundtrack stalwarts Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik add a light touch to one of the film's most memorable moments with “Mere Khwabon Mein Tu”.
