Singer and composer Ranjit Bawa released God’s Land on his birthday—14 March—and the songs have an appropriate celebratory feel. Working with lyricist Babbu and producer Sync on all the tracks, Bawa delivers a collection that mostly eschews ballads for tunes made for drives and dance floors. Buoyant bhangra rhythms propel both joyous album opener “Balle Balle” and the anthemic “GUITAR WALE MUNDE”. The record takes a romantic turn with “One Girl”, which also gets a crackling synth-pop version. And the star signs off by paying homage to his homeland on the effervescent “My Dear Punjab”.
