Editors' Notes On his self-professed break-up record, singer/songwriter Prateek Kuhad—who may as well be anointed patron saint of the country's lovelorn youth—flits from one heart-wrenching ballad to another with consummate grace. Title track "cold/mess" finds his ethereal voice hovering above uncomplicated drum beats and a strummed guitar before finally crashing to a halt amidst a swarm of synths. But the highlight is undoubtedly album closer “100 words”, a quiet and sparse arrangement where Kuhad finds contemplation in the spaces between his measured syllables.
