For her Apple Music Home Session—our series in which artists record stripped-back versions of their own tracks—South African R&B singer-songwriter Elaine offers up intimate versions of two tracks: “Risky” (from her 2019 coming-of-age EP, Elements), in she which explores what happens when emotions are left unchecked; and her 2021 single, “Right Now”, which sees her trying to shed emotional baggage and get rid of a lover she can’t quite get over. “These two songs have a very special place in my heart,” she tells Apple Music. “I had a difficult time choosing the right songs to recreate, but after listening back to the stripped-back versions of these two songs, I immediately fell in love with them all over again and couldn't want to share them with the world. They reveal the rawness and honesty of the songs.”
