Fronted by charismatic singer/songwriter Kobi Oz, Teapacks steep their smart and colourful pop-rock in a wealth of sounds drawn from the band members' multicultural backgrounds. Whimsically alternating rhythms powered by guitars, accordion, percussion and string and wind instruments, they marry Eastern and Israeli ingredients with unfailing musicality—and an irresistible sense of humour. The group's song for the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest, “Push the Button,” sparked controversy, but even at their most provocative, Teapacks remain exhilarating—and always entertaining.
