Born in Tel Aviv to a Spanish father and Turkish-Israeli mother, Shlomi Saranga is an unlikely Greek-Hebrew star. He cut his teeth singing in Athens, and returned to Israel ready to take on his home country. When Saranga found fame in 2002 with his album Greek Celebration, he was already a well-known figure on Israel's Greek club circuit, performing songs he borrowed from the biggest stars across the Mediterranean. His career took off singing in both languages, balancing uptempo party hits and touching ballads, his familiar baritone and bouzouki always in the spotlight.
