After coming up in the world of alt-rock, Noize MC switched gears and channelled his passion for lyrical experimentation into freestyle rap. A successful stint on the rap battle circuit saw him not only win accolades, but also finely hone the fast-paced style of rhyming that's become his trademark. His early work is marked with a playful lyricism, with slick bars that bounce around like beach balls on a trampoline. With age, his output has grown increasingly political: the charged, confrontational flows of his rap battle days are now focused on social inequality and governmental injustice.
