

After young Danny Niv saw Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing, he took the name of one of the film's characters, Mooki, and a new musical voice was born. His group Shabak Samech went on to introduce hip-hop and rap—in Hebrew—to the Israeli music scene in the '90s. After leaving the band, he pursued a successful solo career in hip-hop, while acting and even judging on reality television.
