Knesiyat Hasechel Essentials

Indie rock broke out big time in Israel in the ‘90s, and two decades along, Knesiyat Hasechel (Church of Reason) have held on to its wonderful edge. With its special blend of New Wave and Mizrahi pop, the band conquered the hearts of people all across Israel. Formed in Sderot, in Israel's Negev desert, Knesiyat Hasechel created music as sweeping as the landscape from which it came. Keyboards and guitars dominate these songs—the occasional string quartet and Arabic lyrics keep things fresh.
