The Replacements never did achieve commercial success, but they stomped a huge hole in the underground scene that few could fill. With earthy vocals, intimate lyrics and a fierce, raw energy, the group evolved musically beyond punk, inspiring many would-be musicians to form their own bands. Without The Replacements, we might not have Nirvana, Pixies or Green Day, to name just a few.
