Eifo Hayeled put an Israeli stamp on the muscular, guitar-driven grunge sound that swept the globe in the early ‘90s. The band's debut, 1993's Sugar Time, set the stage for Eifo Hayeled to rule the ‘90s with distorted guitars, thunderous bass and even some romantic anthems. Singer and bassist Chemi Rodner's vocals were gritty and gripping as he delivered epic, sing-along choruses—and Israelis loved hearing the style of the day sung in Hebrew. As a result, the group became a mainstay of the Israeli rock scene throughout the decade.
