Auktyon's wide-ranging career has led them on a journey through various instrumentation set-ups and genres such as post-punk, hard rock, folk and jazz. The Russian art-rock group started in 1978 and has since built a reputation for off-kilter rhythms and ever-permutating melodies, backed by mad horn sections and driving, impassioned vocals. On stage, the nine-piece's inimitable free-form fugues have become known for an equally unique accompaniment—the wild gesticulations of band leaders Leonid Fedorov and Oleg Garkusha.
