Often considered the queen of Mizrahi music in Israel, Ahuva Ozeri has produced an impressive body of work as a composer and performer since she burst on to the scene in the late ‘60s. She organically weaves Arabic classical music, Israeli folk and African rhythms into sounds drawn from her Yemenite roots. Throughout these cuts, Ozeri's soulful, heartbreaking voice is complemented by the gorgeous sound of her bulbul tarang, an Indian string instrument. She's been steadily releasing inspiring music ever since her first big hit, 1975's “Heichan Hahayal (Where Is My Soldier)”.
