Los Piojos

About Los Piojos

Latin rock act from Argentina Los Piojos was formed in 1987. The band is mostly known for combining rock and local traditional music, such as tango and candombe. They participated in an anti-racist festival in Paris, playing along with Mano Negra, soon, issuing its debut album, called Chac tu Chac, followed by 1994's Ay Ay Ay and 1996's Tercer Arco. Two years later, Los Piojos moved to the U.S. to promote Azul, performing in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Miami. The group's Ritual was recorded live in May of 1999 at Buenos Aires' Obras Sanitarias. In the year 2000, Sebastián Cardero replaced original drummer Daniel Buira. That same year, Verde Paisaje Del Infierno was released. ~ Drago Bonacich
