About Deceiver

Swedish death/thrashers Deceiver formed in the city of Strängnäs in the early months of 2004, initially as a four-piece consisting of guitarist Pete Flesh, bassist Crille Lundi, drummer Magnus "Flingan" Flink, and amusingly named vocalist Destormo, who would bow out shortly after the recording of their first album, Riding with the Reaper, in mid-2005. The remaining members immediately began searching for a replacement, but after several frustrating auditions eventually decided to go ahead as a trio, with Flesh adding lead vocals to his existing guitar duties for the following year's Holov Posen Tro May Trot. But Deceiver wound up calling it quits in 2007 after all, and even their subsequent return in 2008 to record one final album -- emphatically named Thrashing Heavy Metal -- only took place so that Flesh could get a final set of songs off his chest. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
