An exploration of romance in all its messy glory, Fire is a reminder that breaking up often leads to breaking down. And breaking down is usually the first step to starting over—a theme echoed in the album’s first line, delivered by singer Torquil Campbell’s father: “When there is nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire”.
