After teaching himself how to produce music from his bedroom, Tom Tripp released a demo of “Aurelia” online and became a name to watch overnight, patronised by NAO and Mura Masa. His psychedelic productions experiment with distorted synths (“Pamela”), the silkiest of R&B vocals (“Aurelia”) and funky futuristic riffs (“So Shy”). Red’s slick, daring songwriting is remarkably assured for a first EP and proves that Tripp can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with his illustrious mentors.
