Released in 1993, Simanim Shel Chulsha was Berry Sakharof's first solo album after a long collaboration with Rami Fortis—but there's nothing "weak" about this collection of darkly exhilarating rockers. Distortion bleeds through stripped-back synth samples, with Sakharof's crushing guitar riffs blazing under his gravelly vocals. Calling a song "Ra'ash Lavan" seems like a wry joke—it's anything but background noise— but his melodies also shine: "Hadma'ot Shel Lily" is crunchy alt-rock perfection.
