The Feelies Essentials

The Feelies Essentials

Inspired by the nervous energy of bands like The Velvet Underground and The Modern Lovers, The Feelies formed in 1976 amid the punk-rock explosion. But by the time they released their 1980 debut, Crazy Rhythms, they had evolved into something far different than your average three-chord punk band. With a jittery sound and an unabashedly geeky vibe, their post-punk groove had a huge impact on the development of indie rock. They explored folk-rock influences with 1986's The Good Earth but stuck mainly to their trademark energetic exuberance through their next four albums.
