T Bone Burnett is best known as a rootsy, GRAMMYⓇ-garnering producer, but he's been operating as a trenchant singer/songwriter for longer than he's been overseeing other artists' sessions. Since the ‘70s, Burnett has been a penetrating songsmith, his idiosyncratic output encompassing keen observations on the human condition in a broad range of moods and modes. He's penned psychedelic sci-fi blues numbers, such as the wry, quirky "Humans from Earth", as well as organic, rather Dylan-esque folk/country songs like the moody, propulsive "Shut It Tight".
