Siouxsie & The Banshees: Influences

Siouxsie & The Banshees began as followers of the Sex Pistols—Sid Vicious even played drums for the band's first gig—and their early work is shot through with traces of early punk, like The Damned's buzz-saw guitars and Teenage Jesus & the Jerks' atonal skronk. Meanwhile, their glam sensibilities came from Bowie and Roxy Music, and German singer Nico gave them their atmospheric gloom.
