No one can accuse Newcastle-born producer Henry Smithson of not putting in the hours. Inspired by trips to Renaissance raves in the late 90s, by the mid-2000s he was putting on nights in Newcastle, releasing on his own label Switch before becoming a mainstay on the 2000s electro scene alongside contemporaries like Surkin and Soulwax with releases on labels including Ed Banger and Dim Mak. In recent years he’s hit on a winning formula with a string of huge pop inflected dancefloor hits that touch upon and update the electro house formula. Alongside collaborators like Kah-Lo, Oliver Heldens and MNEK, Riton has created some of the most euphoric and unshakeable dance records of recent times.
