Little Brother Essentials

Consisting of the rappers Phonte and Big Pooh plus the producer 9th Wonder, Little Brother charmed indie rap fans with their 2003 debut album The Listening. Dropping on the influential underground ABB label, the buzz about the project's quick-witted wordplay and 9th's soulful beats saw them graduating to the majors for 2005's The Minstrel Show. It's a move that didn't fit the everyman persona of the group and the satirical album failed to light up the charts. So the trio reverted to their independent roots for two more albums before disbanding after 2010's LeftBack.
