Konshens Essentials

Clubs can go off the Richter scale when a Konshens tune comes through the speakers. The Kingston singer reached the Jamaican mainstream after collaborating with roots reggae legend Tarrus Riley in 2009; two years later he became one of dancehall's top dons, his slick, low voice helping to fill the void left by Vybz Kartel's incarceration. He's since made as many anthems as just about anyone in the Caribbean, but it's versatility that sets him apart. Konshens' work includes ice-cold stare-downs, old-school acoustic jams and even synth-crazy pogo-stick EDM—and that's just for starters.
