Gurdas Maan gained national acclaim as a Punjabi artist when he sang “Dil Da Mamla Hai” in 1980, becoming known as an affable singer who took on romantic songs with flair. Championing bhangra and Punjabi folk music, Maan assumed the role of composer and lyricist as he created songs in praise of his homeland.
