Gilbert Montagné Essentials

Gifted pianist and singer/songwriter Gilbert Montagné unintentionally began a pop career as a child at a Parisian school for the blind, where daily, five-hour music lessons unearthed his natural talent. In the ‘60s he worked the U.S. rock club circuit, honing an earthy side to his sound. At the age of 20 he scored a massive international hit with “The Fool”, which united bluesy chords and freewheeling vocals. It proved to be the catalyst for a long, prolific career as he's folded major pop trends into his sound—thoughtful, romantic ballads and upbeat disco-infused cuts—with characteristic verve.
