Always just as comfortable making light-hearted songs sound serious (“The Lady is a Tramp”) and serious songs heartbreaking (“Bewitched”), Frank Sinatra was one of Rodgers and Hart's most accomplished interpreters. Their songs combine the twinkling romance of Broadway musicals with the more earthy vernacular of the street itself; a divide Frank was also capable of bridging with ease.
