Troye Sivan decided to go back home to Australia from Los Angeles to self-isolate with his family during this pandemic. Now, he’s considering which next steps to take. “I'm just waking up and doing each day—it’s so strange to not have any sort of plan,” the pop artist tells Apple Music. “For the last couple of years, I've known where I was going to be like a year in advance. I think it's been kind of healing for me, and it made me realise what I actually care about and why I do what I do.” While he’s hunkered down, Sivan says he’s kept busy trying new creative pursuits like graphic design, home decorating and making his own music videos (he’s directed videos for the tracks “Rager teenager!” and “Easy”, both featured on his new EP, In a Dream). On this exclusive Apple Music playlist curated by Sivan himself, he’s chosen tracks by Peach Tree Rascals, Britney Spears, Grimes and Swedish electronic music duo The Knife, whose music has influenced his approach as a songwriter: “They get brought up in sessions all the time as a reference. It’s just good pop writing kind of disguised, but at the end of the day, it’s just really, really good writing.”
