United Sounds of Joy

Formed two decades after the dissolution of North London's brooding, ballad-heavy alt-rockers Dream City Film Club, United Sounds of Joy finds Michael J. Sheehy and Alex Vald cribbing some sonic notes from their previous group, while introducing elements of electronica into the mix. Describing their new project as "coming on like Joe Meek and Goldfrapp entangled in some ancient machinery," the duo released their eponymous debut studio long-player under the new moniker in early 2016 via Bronzerat Records. ~ James Christopher Monger
