About Tokyo Police Club
Canadian indie rockers Tokyo Police Club created a taut, quirky sound influenced by post-punk with a trace of garage rock, incorporating unconventional lyrics delivered by a singer with a slight resemblance to the Decemberists' Colin Meloy. Formed in 2005, the band released it's debut EP, A LESSON IN CRIME, the following year. After generating a buzz through touring and numerous high-profile festival appearances, Tokyo Police Club were signed to renowned Omaha indie label Saddle Creek, who released the band's first full-length album, ELEPHANT SHELL, in 2008.
